Welcome to my domain

12/23 Went out with Reeftails to
80' for my first time at diving for lobster.. Our first dive didn't produce much but the other team BottomDwell and Ian
managed a couple slippers and misc. fish. I did see one bug but as a newbie that
one got deep and out of my range. The second dive, same scenario but Ian got a
nice grouper. I didn't see any bugs. The third dive was much better and with 8
lobsters. I am still waiting for the photos aarrgghh. I can not believe I left
home without my electronics bag and camera. I want to thank Reeftails and the others
for their patience and sharing their experiences with me. I hope to do this
again real soon. Total 12 bugs and assorted fish.
12/27 It was a sloppy seas day today. It was
good to have the curtains up due to the wet ride we were having. We found some
active bottom and checked it out. Lots of fish so Vincent came up with 2 huge
margates and Adam came up with lobby. Since I was doing the lobster thing I only
seen one. Vis was 15' -20' Later Adam wanted a challenge so he nailed a
40#+ AJ and later a 22# gag. JohnB helped with the helm, thanx again. Total 2
lobs, 1 aj, 2 margates, a trigger, and a spanish mac.

12/30 Went out With Ian for another attempt at lobster but only got a few miscellaneous fish
1/6/03 Was invited to join Lob Bad English and Divin Fool to go for lobsters and was successful at putting me on them but as a rookie with only 13 dives under my belt missed a few but Bad English took up where I left off. I did manage to get one nice size bug
Note to self: Clean off the lens of the camera prior to photo taking.
3/13 Went out with KP, Surveyor, and Adamk in KP's boat and headed for some spots for diving. First place I directed them to dickey boy with bad vis but did see some flounder and one grouper hiding in the mass of bait. Nothing to report but 64º down there in 80' with 5-7' vis and lots of junk to dive around. The next stop was nice vis up to 20' and managed a keeper. 5.2#s That was it for me but a few mangrove snapper and red grouper were brought up by the others.

First stop was an old place I used to fish in 80'. The water sure looked green and poor vis from the top so let Apex drop down and look see. He was hollering about how the 71 degree water was not comfortable with him. I said all you have to do is take just a few minutes to take a look see and after several minutes he did and said come on in, its clear after 40'. Over I go and sure enough, got thru the mess and it looked like I was coming in for a landing into some canyons! The vis on the bottom seemed endless! 100' easy and bottom was 52 degrees. Don't know what happened to Apex but searched around and found a 4.5# bug and lots of prize fish. I never seen vis that good ever but Im a newbie to this.
